Annually, the ALS Therapy Alliance runs its Researching a Cure fundraising campaign, which began in 2002.

Our first campaign started with CVS/pharmacy customers donating $1 at the register during a three-week fundraising effort in the summer. Today, that partnership is growing strong and has raised nearly $28 million for researching a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

100% of funds raised benefit the ALS Therapy Alliance. Up until 2009, 100% of all monies raised from fundraising efforts went directly to research. In 2009, the organization incurred a 2% over head cost, 5% in 2010 and we expect to not exceed 8% in 2011. Not many organizations can claim that more than 90% of money raised from fundraising goes towards research efforts.

We seek partnerships with media organizations that want to attract new readers/viewers/listeners, sell more newspapers/magazines, sell ad space, etc. Your organization must also want to be first to share breakthrough research with your audience.

The ALS Therapy Alliance can connect you with individuals and families living with this deadly disease. Learn about how they are coping with a neurological disorder with no cure, but lots of promising research and hope.

We encourage you to partner with us and help spread awareness about ALS.

Our Board of Directors consists of esteemed researchers, scientists and Nobel Prize winners who are affiliated with top institutions such as Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard College, Tufts University, Children’s Hospital Boston, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Columbia University, Boston University, Brandeis University, and the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
